                        IN THE NEWS

  PRESTIGE Holdings Ltd,  the franchisee for KFC and Pizza Hut in T&T, yesterday announced it had completed the acquisition of 50 per cent of the company that holds the KFC franchise in the Dominican Republic. The acquisition cost Prestige US$1.9 million. Prestige is now part-owner of a new joint venture company called Kentucky Foods Group Ltd, which was incorporated in the British Virgin Islands.

  Prestige said it had taken management control of the KFC franchise in the Dominican Republic and four of its key managers have been relocated there. Prestige said it viewed the investment as a "long-term growth opportunity in a market that is significantly larger than Trinidad's."

  Learn Sign Language:
 Basic and Level 1 Sign Language classes are held on Wednesdays from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Cascade School for the Deaf.

 First Aid Courses:
 The Northern Branch of the Red Cross Society commenced First Aid  classes today at Fitzblackman Drive.  Interested persons can call the Society for further details. 

 (it good to know how to do dese tings.. you could save somebody life someday!!)
