TANTIE TALK:
Eh?? Is what yuh say? Mih ears still ringing after de fete. De
so-and-so music does be so loud dat yuh cyar even hear yuhself tink.
Ah eh know eef dem band leaders have shares in some hearing aid
factory or eef det feel dat because dey cud read music, is okay fuh
dem to end up like Beethoven. But is not all ah we who go be able to
read and understand de music. We wud like to be able to hear it.
When dey have ah party in Woodbrook, yuh swear de audience mus be
down on de Promenade, fus de music loud. Dey forgettin' dat Carnival
and Carnival fete is not only fuh young pee-pul to wild up de body
and get orn.. it have odder pee-pul who does enjoy de music and de
dancing, but dey does like to talk wid dey frens who now land from de
cold or jes come up from South or down from North.

And is not only loud de music loud, but is like dey feel de have to
get pee-pul in shape before de Carnival. One setta fas fas rhythm in
de music. One ah dese days somebody bound to drop down! And is only
den dey go look to mek a change. What happen to music like Nelson's
"Mih Lover", Explainer's "Lorraine" and "Ras Mas". And before he was
"Super", Blue Boy did grace us wid "Ethel" and "Rebecca", not to
mention "Soca Baptist".

What happen to we music? Whey de music gorn?
