TANTIE
TALK: Change for de better or plus ca change... is which one it go be? At long last we go see exactly who or what was keeping back West Indies cricket. De 'Benevolent Dictator' gorne and now is a chance for somebody else to show what they could do. Is ah long time all ah we been clamouring fuh the head to change, because no matter how much dey change de minions, de battle plan just wasn't wukkin'. It cyar be dat everybody else was wrong and Mr. Man was always right, especially seeing as how he own puss-o-nal business and dem did buss. Is true he did bring de concept of "marketing" of West Indies cricket to a level where de Board was actually making money, but de question is what good use did dem make ah dat money? Tantie doh remember ever seeing no account of how much was invested in new talent. Yes we did see new faces every now-and-again, but I fairly certain dey did come through de individual territories' programmes. I might be wrong, but it still eh have no cricket academy set up and we sending young players off to Australia and England to dis day. Arks anybody in de Caribbean what was de policy/plan/framework of de WICB and I sure dey go look at yuh like eef yuh did arks dem de question in Mandarin... and wid ah lisp to boot! We could only hope dat whoever take over ensure dat dey do better. Oh gorm man, it go be real nice to be de Windies again... |
