TANTIE TALK:
Yuh remember how dey used to say when somebody getup from a chair
and yuh sitdong onetime dat de person did have sins as de seat was
hot? Well I feel de Devil heself was sitting on Trinidad de last
few days...dat is HEAT!!! Half de time no breeze blowing, and when
it decide to give "a ease" it feel like is a blow drier on yuh!

I ent know what it is going on at all, an' eef I didn' know better
I woulda swear it have a conspiracy wid de fan, air-condition an'
even de bottle water manufacturers to empty dey warehouse. I know
de dry season does really end in June, but when we did get 2-3 lil
almost shower of rain a couple weeks ago not only Tantie but all
Trini did say a lil "Thank you Lord" because we know dat WASA doing
dey worse as usual an water was running low. Of course dey did wait
till things was getting real bad before dey tell people to conserve
water, wid a big setta press conference and tour showing how low de
reservoir an dem was...dey did even put ad in de papers showing
when and where dey was going to be "load-shedding" de water. Well
is no sooner dey do dat the rain start to fall...an' yuh know how my
people does be - "is what dem fussin' about, ent rain fallin'?" and
dey continue dey merry way hosing orf dey car, bathing dey dog and
drowning dey plants. I doh know nuh, is why it is dey have to wait
till the LAST minute to tell we dat it ent have no water?

It doh take no big setta book learning to work out dat eef it ent
have no rain de water bong to mus run out eef people use it widout
due care and attention. I feel eef dey fixup all dem leaking mains
as soon as dey buss, den people go start to take dem serious when
dey come asking we to help dem.
