TANTIE TALK:
Well, well, well...what a thing! De peewats an dem well acquit demselves in de World Cup. Yuh realise we did nearly have Korea playing Senegal in
de final? Tantie woulda love to see dat match, not jes because both dem teams playing de most attractive football
anybody see in years, but most of all because it woulda have for de first time ever finalists who
wasn' from Europe or South America.
So, I hope my people see jes how yuh suppose to do things...even de USA reaching de quarter finals and we cyant even make to get kick out in de
first round. Senegal come through out of nowhere and show de world jes how beautiful de game could be, and Korea reach where dey have Germany
running ragged and jes scraping a one goal win, but what yuh have to look at is where dey come from. Hiddink was de coach of de Holland team dat
drop 5 goals on Korea in de 1998 World Cup. So, in January 2001 dey hire him to make sure de team really know to play de game and wouldn't get
embarrass in front of de home fans. He real work magic in only a year and a half, and I feel my money safe on Korea for Germany in 2006!
But he woulda get nowhere if he didn't have total support and commitment of de
government, business and people behind de team. Is when we here in T&T, and de Caribbean as a whole, go learn how to play by de rules of
de 'real world'? And not only play by their rules, but beat dem at dey own
game(s) - in all arenas, not just sport - because we, small-fry peewat dat we be, have per capita more talent than dem ancient setta reprobate
societies coulda ever imagine - because we suffer and had to learn how
to make do and innovate when we had nothing. Is a lesson we should have had down pat by now, seeing as how we have de perfect example right in we
back yard - CUBA.

You're so right! It is frustrating for our incredible, magical imaginative,
innovative and only we know all what else for talent Trinis have that and
must get by without total governmental support and recognition. We could
get somewhere if only those who hold the reigns pull their weight and lead
their teams in every aspect be it sport or whatever to GOALS!!!!!! Wake up
Trinis we have it!!!! Let's reach for the stars!!!
I would jump so high ...I will reach Trinidad without a plane.
