TANTIE TALK:
Well tonnerre...what a thing! Is where we going next? So allyuh mus be know by now about de mark whey buss over de weekend...a setta 'big boys' get charge wid corruption and all kinda thing, a first for this place and hopefully not a last. But yuh know how it does be in T&T, nevermind yuh innocent until proven guilty, everybody done washing dey mouth and all know everything about what went on, because dey did hear it from dey nennen's cousin's aunt, who gardener did happen to be passing by when things did take place.

Tantie not in dat. If dey get charge, it mean dat it have enough evidence of some 'wrongdoing' dat strong enough to stan' up in court. It doh mean dat de people done declare guilty and only waiting to get sentance! I find dey way de crowd did get on outside de court yesterday was at best disgraceful. We finally looking like we might be starting to 'act' like a mature country in bringing charges against de people who did break de trust we had when we 'elect' dem to public office, but is like it was jes a thought we had...the mob scenes outside de court bring we back to de reality of dis half-arsed lil speck of dust dat want to play it ready fuh de big leagues. We does want to have all de benefits and none of de evils of 'big city' life - and dat is what we be, Trinidad especially IS no longer jes a nice lil Caribbean island, oil money did make it one of the world's big cities complete with all the trimmings, good and bad - but we ent want to see dat at all. We not only want to have we cake and eat it, we feel de bakery should be paying we fuh de privelige too!

Is when my people go really have a look at demselves and take stock, recognise what is de good, praise and nurture it so dat T&T could still continue to be dat wonderful place we hold it to be in more than we hearts and fading memories.
