TANTIE TALK:
So we have a macco big, looong weekend because two holiday decide to fall on
de same day...of course in any other part of de world it woulda never be a
problem to only have one holiday or better yet to have two days like we doing
- but without all de ole talk and noise.
No matter who was de government, de had was to give both days because dey
cyant risk offending either or both 'parties' concerned. Is either de Catholic
Church or de Maha Saba dey woulda have to placate if dey decide it was only
one day holiday we was having...and even when it done arredy decide to have
two days, yuh know it was all kinda talk about who it was who get the 'throw
in' holiday! T&T fast becoming de land of talk, everywhere yuh look is a
nex set of talks and 'discussions' going on.
It even have "the Vagina Monologues" on this week, ironically so, as
de hotest topic of late has been "orificial dialogues" of a shall we
say somewhat different nature.
Now I really ent see why people kicking up all dis fuss bout de priest an dem.
Is a simple matter...if dey boysing dey boysing, dat is between dem and dey
maker (and if a priest cyant get through to de maker, then something *really*
wrong!). But, as in everything else it have rules, and dey rules say yuh
doesn't play dem games wid chirren. Break de rules and yuh go get a lash from
whoever in charge...jes like when yuh used to go tief mangoes in de neighbour
yard. Tantie know a couple priest yuh
could talk to and lime wid jes like everybody else, and when yuh ask dem how
dey does deal with 'urges', de answer was straightforward: "I only human
yuh know...". Is high time de Church stop de hypocrisy dat dey calling
celibacy, and extra-marital sex. It might have been useful as policy in an
earlier time (check up on the name Borgia in Church history and yuh go
understand), but nothing is ever static and a change in policy might jes be de
best thing to happen to de Church in a long time.
Let de people and dem live, love and be human jes like de rest of us, if dey
choose celibacy so be it. De Trappists choose silence as a way of life, so why
dey cyant have an order of 'Celibates' who choose celibacy? Of course then yuh
still have de 'problem' of sex outside of marriage... because dat is all
celibacy is: vowing to not marry. If is no problem to deal with de concept of
Jesus as both Man and God, and if his failings as man were understandable and
acceptable, and we can live comfortably with priests being lawyers and doctors
or even soldiers... why is it we have problems in simply seeing them as MEN?
