Tantie Talk

I was going to give allyuh a piece dat supposedly come from George Carlin - who BTW bong to must have been a Trini in a past life - but is a good ting I decide to verify it 'pon he website. Of course it ent have nuttin to do wid him more than somebody put he name on de piece!

Now dis is a most interesting phenomenon...a kinda 'reverse plagiarism' dat really and truly doh make sense. I mean to say, what de people who doing de thing getting out of it? De satisfaction of seeing how many dotish people it have on de internet dat go jus' forward things widout checking if is true? I cyant see any monetary or other value dey could get from it...it mus be de same kinda people who does write viruses an let dem go, because jes like dem it doh make sense at all. But den again it could be somebody who George did piss off wid one of he genuine commentaries - and yuh know it have plenty of dem! But is what dey really feel dey could achieve? Dey feel by spreading dese half-assed, wimpy, supposed Carlinisms dey go dilute de real thing? Talk 'bout barking up de wrong tree...what
dey doh realise is dem ent hearing de music to paraphrase George himself - yes, I did check de quote up top, and it right dere on de official website. If Tantie did was rolling in money, I woulda fly George down to T&T for a few months so he could see for heself dat it have a place more surreal dan he could imagine...but I fraid he jes might not be able to deal wid it, he jes might feel he get drop in Nirvana, he would have one helluva time trying to discard material to use...he might jes go into overload.

Actually now dat I sit back and think about it...dat have someting in it. No, not senning George into overload, but having a 'Satirist's Convention' in T&T...yuh could imagine de likes of Carlin, Bill Cosby, Paula Poundstone, Andy Rooney, Whoopie Goldberg, Dave Barry et al mixing it up wid Sprang and Errol Fabien and Rachel Price and Donna Haddad? Oh gorm, yuh know dat go have to be at least a 8 week event: 2 weeks fuh de outside folks to drift 'round de place and get a feel of things, then a nex 2 weeks fuh dem to digest things and prepare dey presentations...a nex 2 weeks fuh de actual convention and de last 2 weeks fuh everybody to recover.

I going and register mih thing right now oui...allyuh bes get ready to buy yuh tickets, because even if de event doh come off I could still use de name fuh de nex time we having Elections:
