When the politicians complain that TV turns the proceedings into a circus, it should be made clear that the circus was already there, and that TV has merely demonstrated that not all the performers are well trained.

Tantie Talk

So, is who could explain what really happening wid TSTT dese days? Anywhere yuh look it have a setta people complaining and wid good reason to boot...if it ent de phone repairs taking too long is because yuh getting wrong bill, and if yuh try on yuh cell all yuh getting is system busy/redial message. Doh ask fuh if yuh decide to sen' a SMS message wid de Lingo service, yuh could quicker walk dong by de person an deliver de message, no matter what part ah T&T yuh living...and if yuh feel yuh could pass all dat by and use de Internet, well chile yuh has a whole nex odder think coming.

It really strange de way it seem dat EVERYTHING gone wrong wid dem all at once, but what stranger still is dat dey seem to be stumped as to what going on and how to fix it...talk is de call from on high say fix it no matter what de cost! Even stranger is de fact dat de troubles wid de Internet not affecting dey brand new ADSL Broadband service and yuh know how Trini does be...Town done saying dey messing up de dialup service so people go take ADSL instead! But Tantie know dem ent dat chupidee, dey know if dey did try dat it woulda bound to backfire on dem. What I cyant
understand is why dey still using '60s thinking in 2002 and feel dat ADSL is only for business place to use. When yuh check de price dey asking for dey basic service, it still kinda high for de speeds dey offering...is true dey ent like dem big boys in de USA dat have 2-3 million customers, but I feel if dey did really do dey homework and suss out de general public and de technical people in de business places, dey woulda get a better idea of de kinda potential for broadband in T&T. Dey forget people watching cable and DirecTV ads for ADSL all day long, and, not only dat dey does be watching TechTV to boot and know all 'bout how it does work. So when TSTT feel is only de Chamber of Commerce and AMCHAM and de TTMA dey need to survey dey couldn' be more wrong...yes yuh have to talk to dem, but after yuh talk to dey technical people, because yuh know hardly any of de bigshots an' dem know anything 'bout Internet - dem so does have computer on dey desk, but dey secretary does still have to check dey email and print it fuh dem to read.

Is when we go come into de real world at all? De PM talking tata 'bout Trinidad Hollywood, but yuh know is jes words somebody put in he mouth because dey feel it would go down good at de opening of de cineplex. Is true dey talking 'bout tax break for investment in productions, but until dey get it right and decide to fully stand behind culture in all forms as a good and desireable thing, we go be still laughing at "Scrunting for Talent" in 2012 (if we lucky and still have anything local on de TV besides news) instead of laughing, crying and cheering in de appropriate places when we watching a locally produced movie, cartoon, soap or comedy series on de screen...which if TSTT get it right might just also be a computer, phone, PDA or whatever else dey will be calling it when T&T hit de half
century.
