So, Patos talk he talk and now is everybody go wash dey foot and come join in de nex setta talk he talk go generate. Overall it ent seem like he
coulda do much else...dey 'giving' to all sectors, especially de needy and de youths, so 'pon de surface everybody should be happy - but is de details
of how dese ideas go become plans and get delivered dat I waiting to see.
Fus to begin, is how exactly dey planning to pay out de $600,000,000 dat owing to Public Servants when dey still ent manage to sort out de $1000
book grants yet? No to mention de campaign promise dey keep - but only in de sense dat dey ent break it yet - dey "intend to increase the minimum
wage to $10 per hour within the next 5 years"...I sure nobody didn' hear no 'within 5 years' when dey was campaigning! Nice one Patos, if yuh 'forced'
to call elections before de 5 years up it ent your fault it didn' get delivered. I hope dey actually manage to get de programs dey planning
forde youth orf de ground, because dey really needed...an' while I on de topic, is like Patos and he side does well read de Talk, I find is plenty
thing I talk 'bout in de last few months show up in de Budget - what a ting! ;-) But seriously, dey 'seem' to be on de right track when it come
to de youths. De incentives in Agriculture for youths along wid de Civilian Conservation Corps and also de Voluntary National Service go help
wid discipline and direction in dey lives. As for de rest of we, de dropping of VAT and duties on 'medication' is a good thing, but again is
exactly what dey mean by medication? Anything yuh taking does count... including de thing from de Chinese shops on Charlotte Street? Or is
anything dat selling in a drugstore? Limacol does count as well as Bengay? De clarification eagerly awaited, Patos & Co.
It have plenty more in de mortar we need to know about before we could well and truly say we could see where we going as a Nation...as Dookeran say,
he ent sure it have a philosophy behind de Budget, but he like what he see. Is only when de debate start we go see how it playing, hopefully de tone
Dookeran set go continue in de Parliment. What T&T need now is for every single person ESPECIALLY de politicos (who have to remember dey in WE
employ) to pull together FOR T&T...yes we all have we differences of opinion which we will always voice loudly wid little or no encouragement,
but dat doh mean we cyant work together and get along because we does do it year after year at Carnival time.
Never mind Patos an' dem grand name of "Vision 2020: People, Our Priority", you and me know T&T could do whatever it take to get de job done, we do
it for de bandleaders every year, so maybe de Politicos had bes' take time out and learn from dem how to be
inspirational leaders who could get an impossible job done, on a minimal budget and end up wid a nice profit of
not only dollars, but loyal and happy followers.
