Tantie Talk
Well, as dey say ... Christmas done and de party now start. Even wid de
longer-than-it's-been-in-a-while Carnival season, de tempo done heating up
arreddy. What wus really nice is dat St. Francois Girls 1st. all-inclusive
fete score good and de school go get some much needed funds. Add dat to de
fact dat dey jes win dey 1st. ever national scholarship and dey have plenty
to celebrate.
But dat aside, allyuh explain to me what is de purpose of band performers
constantly interrupting de song to "bring it down" to talk some chupidness
to an audience jes wanting to dance and free-up? Is who really tell dem
dat we want dat? Jes when Tantie and she squeeze getting into a lil
groove, some clown on stage want to ask me eef ah having ah good time. I
WAS ... till he open he mout to talk. Allyuh band leaders... jes let de
song play and let de music be, nah. Is what we pay we money fuh. And, by
de way, yuh see de early-in-de-season-brass? Dey eh happening at all, at
all, at all! Is like de brass men and dem does be hearing (an playing) ah
different tune at de start ah de season. Allyuh should work on dat,
because yuh tants real like she brass and does want to be under de brassmen
and dem nosehole when dey playing.
De nex grouse ah have is de esclating prices of some ah dem all-inclusive
fete. Ah mean to say ... even in mih hey day, dis tantie could never ah
eat and drink $350-$425 worth of grog and shark and bake and doubles. So
leh we get real wid dese prices, especially when allyuh party organisers
know is wine kit wine and Molitov vodka yuh serving. Worse yet, dey have
no right to be running out ah no type ah alcohol at dem prices OR mekking
people line up like sheep fuh food. Yuh make mih pay big money, den at
least give me service and the attendant comforts.
Odder dan dat ... leh we fete clean and safe fuh de season.
