Tantie Talk

So, is bacchanal and more bacchanal in de place...everybody know dat everybody else is a teif/terrorist, and dey ent fraid to run dey mouth to all and sundry especially de foreign press who like nuttin better than to try an' outdo demselves scrambling to have de most sensational headlines ...SIGH, is when we go FINALLY decide to grow up?

AND, if dat wasn' bad enough, we have de Annual Play Yuhself Wid De People Money Convention dey does call "Organising Carnival"...I hear dis year is because Mr. Pan Power did throw he weight 'bout like a wrassler dat dey trying a new ting wid de Panorama running West to East instead of de normal direction. I hear Mr. Man threaten to tek he Panorama an' leave de Savannah if dey didn' go along wid he plan which *suppose* to generate revenue for panmen via Pantrinbago...I waiting to see jes how much get collect and jes who go actually benefit from it. A nex thing is it looking like everybody dis year want to follow Minshall lead and bring out two bands in one...only thing is de second band go be a setta strongarm security to make sure dat none of de nice folks 'playing mask' get dey feathers ruffle.

Doh get mih wrong, I ent condoning none of de unruly goings-on dat does happen when as Mr. Rudder did say "de Ragamuffins congregate"...but as usual we gone through hard in true Trini fashion putting bigger and bigger plaster over de sore dat growing every year instead of trying to get at de cause. It always had youths looking to make trouble in de Mas, we cyant deny dat. What happening dese days is jes a reflection of de greater societal ills dat plaguing T&T...is jes dat when yuh get it all in yuh face, in two days, it does take on a whole nex dimension and yuh cyant avoid it like yuh could de nex 363 days when yuh lockup in yuh "Gated Community". Yuh never realise dat when de music fuh Carnival have a nice mellow feel it ent have no big setta incidents? When yuh see yuh have dem rushing/rampaging 300 beat songs guess what does happen wid de youths who have to drink or whatever in dey head? De idea is for everybody to enjoy demself and not to so overdo dat nobody could even BEGIN to tolerate what de nex one doing.

Yuh really have to wonder when last anybody in dis country take de time to read de words of WE anthem and take in de watchwords dat de Doc did give we: DISCIPLINE, PRODUCTION, TOLERANCE.

Allyuh enjoy yuh fete and look out for yuh neighbor.
