To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we must stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public ...
-Theodore Roosevelt (1858-1919)

Tantie Talk

Yes my chirren...plus ca change, what a ting! If Tantie did only decide to sleep lil late on Sunday yuh realise I coulda miss de whole day play in Bourda? Well, well well, but anyways, I still proud ah dem fellas an' ah feel did really try dey best...is jes dat some ah dem best wasn' up to scratch at all. I dunno, it looking like de bwoy Dillon need a good purge, an' a seabath back home in Toco wid a good solid 'fishbrorf' to fix him up jes right. He really ent looking right on de field, I hope is jes dat he homesick fuh Toco after all de travels of late.

Lara on de odder hand did look plenty better than he look in a looong time. It look like he did have he mind set on doing a good job and not even de Bourda faithful booing did bodder him...dey well applaud him after de century, an then turn round and boo him again when we come out to field again...I jes dunno what to do wid we people yes, we jes never satisfied! I was real glad fuh Ganga too, he wuk long and hard and he finally get he due...is de first on many more I hoping. As for Chanders, he put dong a nex setta 'serious wuk', if he didn' get injured he was looking like 2-300 runs easy. I hoping dat both he and Jacobs, and of course Sarawan, could get back in de series quick, because is real determination and grit like dat we need more of in de side. Speaking of de side, allyuh really take a good look at dem lil babyface it have on de team? De side looking like de average age is bout 20 and dat is only because it have Lara, Dillon and Jacobs looking like big man...widout dem yuh could swear is ah Under-15 team yuh watching! Anyways, de bwoys an dem looking like a team not only when dey playing but after de game too...and it was real nice seeing de two teams doing a file past greeting each odder after de match done, I jes hope dat spirit keep in de series because maybe it could jes become contagious an' spread to de rest ah people in de Caribbean.

I mean to say is what really happening in T&T and Guyana? All yuh seeing is somebody get kidnap or shoot almost every day...is what wrong wid we people? How it is dat Guyana manage to reach de situation dat one lil village could let itself get take over by bandits who now effectively holding de country to ransom. People 'fraid to drive past Buxton because dey never know when 'dem bwoys' go decide to stop vehicles and rob people - in broad daylight! Dem operating dey own tollbooth/taxation point an' it looking like nobody coulda stop dem...dat is until dey snatch de Yankee on de weekend. Yuh know dem Yankee doh like to deal wid no as dey would put it 'terrorist', so when of all de people to get snatch is dey Security man who is ah ex-marine and suppose to be badder than crab, and from all reports he get 'take out' by two lil bwoy, yuh know fuh sure dem makin' certain it ent happen again. Tings go be hotting up fuh sure in Buxton.

And what about we here in T&T? Is what happening to prevent de same kinda ting taking place in T&T? All yuh hearing is dat de Gov't spend one setta money on 'spy equipment' so dey could wiretap and eavesdrop on everything under de sun...from what I hearing dey could nearly read dis even as I writing it an fuh sure dey could see it before it hit allyuh mailbox! I ent mind dey spend de money and using de tings to get de goods on people who poisoning we country wid drugs and all kinda crime, is jes dat I want to be sure dat is all dey doing wid it, and de Opposition rumblings bout dey cellphones getting tap turn out to be jes paranoia....but then again as de saying goes "just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean you're not out to get me".
