Is what we doing to we country? Tantie ent know 'bout de Central or de
Southern Range, but I only hope dey ent bad wid bushfire like de North.
Oh gorm...is when last yuh lookup and see de hills suffering so? All day
and all night it bunning, and yuh know what is de worse ting 'bout it?
De fires an' dem preventable...most ah dem cause by us self.
Tantie was up de North Coast over de weekend, and it was real nice seeing
de folks an' dem enjoying deyself...all de way from Maracas to Blanchisseuse
people was having a real good time. De only problem wid de whole picture
was de smoke and fire along de road, and yuh know dat is manmade because
when yuh pass on de road early in de morning, it ent have no fire anywhere
near de road. Yuh only seeing a couple lil piece a bush burning up a hill
far away from any road...but when yuh pass back dong de road 'bout 4-5:00pm,
suddenly it have one setta burn out and still smoking place all along de
road, not to mention some dat ent just smoking but burnin' fast and furious.
Obviously is when de mass of people going up de road wid a few or three
drink in dey head dey ent stopping to think when dey finish wid dey cigarette
an' is floops, out de window it gone. Dem ent stop to study who coming up
de road behind dem and cyant see wid de smoke from de fire dey start, dey ent
stop to consider dey jes wipe out a small farmer whole income wid jes a
flick.
Worse yet, dey ent stop to study how is dem self go be cussing de Gov't
in 3-4 months time when rain start to fall bucket ah drop and dey house
get wash way when de whole hillside jes slide away an' bring dong de rivers
dat done block up anyway (wid de plastic bottles dey jes pelt out de car
right before dey flick de cigarette).
But then again I mus be jes like to talk because yuh know nobody go do ah
damn ting about it...but, if cigarettes causing we hillsides to go up in
flames because de users ent responsible enough, maybe dey should have to
have a licence to show dey could use a cigarette properly, or maybe WITCO
could jes use some of dey plentiful profits and put towards a truly worthy
cause, instead of encouraging de youths to smoke, aided and abetted by de
Gov't and others who should know better.
I sure allyuh saying well is now Tantie really gone orf for true, but jes
remember who it is who does be sponsoring we National Sports Hall of Fame.

Great issue...frightening though! What the hell is going on down there? Now
we trinis like to boast that the nicest place to be is home sweet home....
anybody out there besides me having second thoughts? That's absolutely
unbelievable what is going on in Guyana...!!!! You be careful and don't let
them get you ok!
