The art of life has a pudency, and will not be exposed. Every man is an impossibility, until he is born; every thing impossible, until we see a success."

Tantie Talk

O mih lawd! What a day...is what more blessings we go get today? First ting dis morning yuh wake up an' find de hills cover in mist an' rain falling. An' if dat wasn' enough dem bwoys do de 'impossible' an' win de match! I wonder if it go be pushing de luck to hope fuh a play in de play whe or cashpot dis evening?

Well yes, it was sooo nice to see de hills blanket in mist and cloud instead of de smoke dat was de norm fuh de las' few weeks. It did feel nice to be walking in a drizzle again, nevermind we go be complaining 'bout too much water jes now! Is to hope de rain continue lil bit like dis for a while an' give de hillsides time to recover demselves literally odderwise it go be real commess when de heavy rains reach. I sure it had some flooding downtown anyway, yuh only have to spit too hard and it want to flood. De rivers was running wid some kinda black water dat come from me ent know where, an' it smelling bad too. Hopefully dat is all de junk of de last few months dat get wash out, but unfortunately it ending up in de last lil bit of mangrove it have in de West as well as in de set in Caroni...and yuh know it go endup in de selfsame oysters dat go be 'round de Savannah in a couple weeks.

But lemme not forget mih bwoys...dey finally show dey mettle, an' in some cases dey metal as well! De bwoys an' dem did show some serious 'testicular fortitude' over de las few days...yuh coulda swear dey had gohdee if yuh didn' know better! Is what more yuh could say 'bout Chanders and Sarawan? I woulda have serious problems deciding de Man of de Match...if it was me deciding, it woulda have to go to Chanders, Sarawan AND Banks. Oh jeezan ages dat young bwoy did stan' up dere an' show maturity like it was going outta style...yuh swear he have 20 years batting experience behind him - not dat he just 20 years old! Remember de name well: Omari Ahmed Clemente Banks...we go be hearing plenty from him in years to come! Yuh really have to give de team full marks - fuh playing like a team. Dey finally seem to have settle down an' be comfortable wid each other, an' is a nice blend dey have of youth and experience. De older heads have plenty to pass on, an' is hope I hoping dat de WICB realise dat is not only de present setta 'older heads' dat need to be involved wid de squad, dey HAVE to ensure dat all past players get time wid de youngsters...not jes when dey get a pick in de WI squad, but from de time dey start to show interest in de game. Dey could start a 'caravan' wid de surviving members of all de past teams visiting all de youth coaching setups in all de territories so de chirren have de reality of de heroes, not jes hearing 'bout dem on de radio an' TV. De bong to mus' be able to get sponsors for dat, not to mention dat dey could market video tapes of de ole boys getting to gether an' reminiscing 'bout de long time days.

We short on heroes for we youth to look up to, an' we ent making full use of de ones we have...I seriously hoping de WICB take a good hard look at what did happen today in Antigua an' realise jes how valuable de rough diamond dey have really is. It ent go turn into a gem widout due care an' attention, and it real easy to make a slip an' make de whole ting worthless.
