Tantie Talk
Tantie eh feel like dredging up all the grief dat taking place in de
country, not to mention in de cricket. But dat is anudder story. So is
de rain dat we go talk about today, since now dat it decide to come, it
also decide dat we eh suppose see no sun at all, at all, at all. God must
really be ah Trini - no half measures fuh She.
But is like de people driving in sun fuh so long dat they forget how
slippery de road does get when it wet. On de Beetham dis morning, yuh
should see how dem drivers bobbing an weaving on a road surface dat looking
like pure glass. It go only take one idiot to swerve too far and fishtail
outta control to cause a major bounce-ident dat go have a pile-up from now
till people and dem trying to go home after a long day's wuk in de city.
Sigh! Is when we go learn? Nature plenty much more great than we, so is
what we trying to prove? Dat we chupid? Dem drivers done prove dat
arreddy. So is 'dotish' we heading fuh now!
Maybe de rain go really be ah blessing in disguise come dis weekend when
all ah we did plan to be in de Oval. De way de cricket going fuh the
Windies is like we best pray fuh de heavens to buss open and make ah
swimming pool outta de Oval fuh all ah we to jump in. Wid de score at 2-0
against we bwoys, it eh looking nice. Eef de weather continue like dis,
Tantie Merle go find dat she pink parasol eh go be able to make de grade
dis weekend. Anyway, yuh could be sure that there go be ample stock of
various fluids to keep the body warm and stave orf de cold. Jes remember
to have a designated 'non-drinking' driver to tek allyuh home afterward.
Happy swimming cricket fans!
