Tantie Talk
Well dis weekend ent play it have ting going on...is like suddenly everybody
realise dat is ALL ah we dat did arrive here umpteen many years/generations
ago. Even de Caribs an dem did travel from island to island and mainland,
so is really everybody who did come...even though some didn' have no choice
in de matter.
So, is what bacchanal it have dis week...BWEE doing a tailspin like if is
a unbalance kite, but what yuh expect wid 2 setta 'masters' at de string?
Is like dey cyant decide if dey want Gov't input/control or jes dey money,
de onliest ting(s) dat looking certain is Conrad ent go be dere, an' is jes
a matter of time before a nex plane get repo. Dem suppose to be 'holding
talks' today, I jes hope de both sides could take time out to deflate dey ego, an'
put it in dey back pocket till de done fixup de business. Is plenty people life
dey playing wid, literally AND figuratively. As if dat wasn' bad enough
now it have WASA workers who 'fraid dey get Mercury Poisoning on dey job.
What de papers didn' say is where all dat mercury supposed to have come from!
Dat doh jes appear like magic overnight...if is years it collecting, is why
is only now anybody notice? Or if it only appear recently, is who really
responsible for it? I also want to know where it does end up after passing
through de treatment plant, because if it getting dump in de sea, is real
deep doo-doo we go be in...if yuh doh know what mercury poisining could do,
go check out Minamata Disease, named for de town in Japan dat get good hit
wid mercury poisining.
I wouldn' even bodder to comment on de 'sexy schoolbooks' nonsense...except
to say dat if discussing reproduction in school have to be done widout
diagrams in books as de denominational schools here seem to want, I hope dey could
deal wid de chirren examining each other and comparing notes, because it bong
to happen. An' while we in de area of religion, tings shaping up for a nice
lil tussle between Pastor Billionaire, he supporters and de powers dat be.
I waiting fuh de mark to buss 'bout who did an' didn' get a share in de
extremely large pie Pastor Billionare have to share...dis one go be nice!
Anyways people allyuh enjoy yuh weekend, an' as I did say arredy, remember
when yuh celebrating dat is ALL ah we dat did arrive here in T&T...it nice
to remember and honor de memory of ancestors, but if we doh ever set down we
roots an' firmly establish weselves as Trinis/Trinbagonians or whatever yuh
want to call a Citizen of the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago, yuh could be
damn sure in 50 or 100 years time all dis history an' ancestry dat make WE
Trinis go be well and truly forgotten.

BACKCHAT: Issue 19
Thank you for the wonderful news from home. With each issue I feel the tug of
my navel string pulling me back to Trinbago. I compare the list of What's On
in POS to the things we have available here in much larger Toronto, and I must
say T&T is definitely on par. Wait a minute. Let me find the number for BWIA...

Thanks again the news is always so welcome, and I am glad that you have some
rain. We up here are having some cold days. Summer seems so far away. Such
is life. Take care.

Comment: T'dad & Tobago featured on the Travel channel as having one of the
best beaches. Although I have been "away" for over 40 years I felt real proud.
