Tantie Talk

Well I was in a quandry as to what I was goin' to talk 'bout dis week, after de holiweek dat jes pass, mih system was good confuffle...Friday mornin' I done gettin' Sunday food prepare, so by de time Monday actually reach, de Back in Time Kaiso Dance did seem like it was 2 weeks ago! De ting was nice yet again...all ah allyuh who did 'fraid rain an' stay away, allyuh lorse out bigtime. All ah we who was dere did have dat much more room to enjoy de sweetness dat was we music...SIGH, is when it go be like dat again? But after dat, it was only more of de same in de news...I does be tired reading what
looking like de same story time an' again wid only a couple bits changed. An' yuh know what de worse part of dat is? It ent no case of Jayson Blair either, is jes case after case of de same thing happening in de same place to youths who not so different from each other! But after all dat, at leas' it have cricket, and even wid all de rain, dis match turn out not bad at all.

De bwoy come good in a big way again...fuh a lil bit it was looking like tings jes wasn' going he way at all, after he run out Wavell, yuh coulda swear is God self was restin' on he shoulders. An' den when de rains did come dong bucket-a-drop, wid only 7 runs to go fuh he century, well...I sure he was arksing why it was happening to he! But anyway, he did put all dat behind him today an' put dong a nex innings of class...dat 209 go be remembered as one he bes' innings, if only because he was leading from de front an' giving de youths in de team de best kinda example yuh could want. Yuh really couldn' want better, especially when Omari Banks (again!) and Jerome Taylor did take up from where Lara did leave off, an' batting like if dey come in #3 an' #6 instead of #8 an' #11! Yuh cyant believe dat pair is de babies of de team (Omari is 20 an' Jerome 19!) from de way dey does be batting...it ent go be too long again dat Omari go get he wish to come in at #3, an' de Windies go have a genuine allrounder once more. Wid dat 50 he jes put dong, de selectors have one less place in de team to worry about...is Lara, Sarawan, Banks, Jacobs an den dey could worry 'bout de res'! What de WICB really need to do now is forget 'bout de actual team for a bit an see 'bout fixing up we cricket as a whole!.

De good Rev. Wes Hall right to 'buse de ICC for scheduling cricket in June, but we (de Windies fans & de WICB) have to share in de blame too, because if we did make enough noise when dey did first raise de issue, it coulda never come to pass. Along wid sorting out dat mess, de WICB now have to get de res' of dey act together an' make sure dat when 2007 roll around we ent go endup hanging we head in shame wid no bacchanal in de World Cup. Dey have to start now implementing de ideas an' plans dey have for 2007, lewwe see what dey have to offer so all de kinks an' bugs go get iron out long before de firs' ball get bowl in 2007.
