Whatever the past year may have meant to you, make it dead history. But let the new year be a living issue. With a big fresh sponge, dripping with the clear water of forgiveness, wipe clean the slate of your heart. Enter the year with a kind thought for every one.
You need not kiss the hand that smote you, but grasp it in cordial good feeling, and let the electricity of your own resolves find it connecting current -- which very often exists where we think it not. Make the new year a happy one in your home; be bright of disposition; carry your cares easy; let your heart be as sunshine, and your life will give warmth to all around you. And thus will you and yours be happy.

Tantie Talk

Recipe for a Happy New Year. . . . . . . . . . . . . . Anonymous

Take twelve fine, full-grown months; see that these are thoroughly free from old memories of bitterness, rancor and hate, cleanse them completely from every clinging spite; pick off all specks of pettiness and littleness; in short, see that these months are freed from all the past—have them fresh and clean as when they first came from the great storehouse of Time. Cut these months into thirty or thirty-one equal parts. Do not attempt to make up the whole batch at one time (so many persons spoil the entire lot this way) but prepare one day at a time.

Into each day put equal parts of faith, patience, courage, work (some people omit this ingredient and so spoil the flavor of the rest), hope, fidelity, liberality, kindness, rest (leaving this out is like leaving the oil out of the salad dressing — don’t do it), prayer, meditation, and one well-selected resolution. Put in about one
teaspoonful of good spirits, a dash of fun, a pinch of folly, a sprinkling of play, and a heaping cupful of good humor.

Allyuh... enjoy yuh New Year celebrations, take care an' reach home safe an' sound so we could continue de discourse in 2004

My very dear woman (Tantie) I get the impression you are getting very tired ,you only be 1 person ,you try your best to do what is right, and in doing so you also give the people of your country the insight on how to do the right thing but good Lord tantie it's to the point now, where you going to end up having to do it yourself and we cant have that, please don't go getting all tired out, and pissed off, the education of
the people is of most importance (you be a dam good teacher) on the road to helping themselfs. From the
way you talk, and the information that I receive from my girlfriend's family who live in san-fernando it is as you say 100% BAD--BAD... hoping your readers and you all have a good year in 2004 ------love ya tantie.

Chick,
All the best to you and yours this season. I know you probably have lots of email but read on... It is worth saying that even though most of us probably don't take the time to say it, we greatly appreciate your contribution. It takes a lot of your time I am sure and you don't really get nothing for it. I have been abroad and seen how thirsty people can get for just a "sniff" of anything Trini so I am greatly appreciative of what I have here and the fact that you go the extra mile that you go to let us know what is available to us in
the way of entertainment. May God continue to bless you and yours this coming year. Peace.
