TANTIE TALK - Tuesday 23 January 2007 Volume 8 Issue 04

Is what really going on dis week? Is like everyone turn preacher in trute.

We done get used to Patos saying dat how he is all ah we Fadder and dat he go join up wid Benny Hinn and Portia when he retire, but now it have Eric Williams like he tun born-again self.

Yuh know eef we keep dis up de whole bag ah dem go be ringing bell and crossing deyself before long.

Somehow I feel dat de ones who mus be want to turn to de Lord must be de Piarco posse, because after dem boys in Florida get lick up by dem US court dem local boys mus be quaking in dey jimboots.

But is like we really miss de real lesson from dat trial in Florida. Is de way dat it get put on, wrap up, sentence and finish. We have a long way to go before we reach dat stage.

And is not dat I looking fuh any Gun Court or Saddam hanging to happen in dis Trinidad & Tobago. I jes looking fuh simple organisation and management of de Court system.

Put aside all de politricks wid de CJ and de PM and de DPP and de ressa de alphabet. It have to be a simple answer. If de court case cyar call because de Judge ent available, den hire more Judge. Dat is a simple ting. Jes spend more money.

If de lawyers ent showing up, den dat is ah simple ting. Fine de Lawyers. Daise a nex money ting

If de Police ent show up, den fine de Police Commissioner - allyuh mus be getting de point by now.

Is time dat running de Courts and de Police day to day have to be done by people who qualified in management and process. De CJ does only need to concern heself wid Judicial policy and de Police Commissioner does need to be organising crime fighting.

Tings like salaries and building maintenance and budgets beyond dese fellas. Dem ent have de training, de experience, or de capacity to manage dese issues. So bring in professional managers to handle de business.

Because at de end of de day it cyar have no way dat any problem we having cyar exist because it ent have de money.
