But eh eh...is
how allyuh so? I know de issue was hot, but is like allyuh didn'
take de time to carefully read what I did say las' week. I glad to
see dat allyuh have voice, even if is to shout dong yuh Tants when
yuh feel I make a out...in fact ESPECIALLY if is fuh dat, now if
only yuh could get yuh bredder, sister, nennen or neighbour to do de
same when dey see anybody from a chile up, do someting wrong Tants
go be real happy an' T&T go be a nice place once more. So, to get to
de backchat...
To mih bwoy who feel dat
it sound like yuh saying it eh a big deal, talking bout
if we never cheat on we taxes or anyting.
I has to say sorry dahlin' but is like yuh take in front too
quick...what I was sayin' is dat all dem politrickian who peltin'
big stone free sheet had best check to make sure dat DEY widout sin.
Jes to set de record straight, Tantie surname ent Cartey...ok? Yes
is WE money dat payin' fuh dem to travel de world on we behalf, an'
we fully expect dat dey go be responsible adults an' go be able to
give we a proper account of how dey spend we money...so like you I
waitin' fuh de explanation, but I ent holdin' mih breath. In he
column in de Express today, William Lucie-Smith did put across de
selfsame thoughts dat was in mih head las' week plenty better than I
did.
An as fuh mih doo-doo who does always write she Tants, who did feel
dat mih balisier lingerie get expose...I ent know how yuh reach dere
dahlin. Is a good ting I did say fus ting dat
If it is she abuse de privilege she did get as Minister
she have to face de music, no question 'bout dat...
I ent feel dat I killin' no messenger, or wavin' balisier to say dat
two wrong doh make a right. If de credit card statement is a public
document, Ganga could do what he want wid it, but jes like de
allegations (at de time I was writin') as Mr. Lucie-Smith did point
out until dey could prove abuse of PUBLIC funds all she do is use de
card to buy tings fuh sheself as she admit...so is how de
confidential documents get in de man hand in Parliament? De bank say
it ent come from dem, so is where it come from? We could safely say
dat Camille didn' give Ganga, so in dat case is from de PM office or
wherever it is dat handlin' de finances an' accounts fuh de
Ministers an' dem...lookin' like it was a inside job. I still
say he was wrong to make use of de details in de way he did...why it
is in 2007 parliamentarians still behavin' like if dey still
never-see come-see in de Legistative Council puttin' on a show fuh
de amusement of de Govenor? Is why he couldna engage in eloquent
discourse an' repartee on de topic instead of jes scorin' cheap
shots about she medical history, dat go make nice headlines de nex'
day? But I forget, de one person who coulda do dat fuh sure de ole
Silver Fox wasn' in de House...
An' then Ms. Ex-NCBer in Canada, we accept dat FCB onliest mistake
was when dey agree to issue de cards in de fus place, but I ent see
how yuh could make de stretch yuh stretchin' to say dat
Camille broke the rule of wrongful use of her card and is
no different to the type of “crime” committed by Basdeo
Panday whose London account holds Duprey’s “gift” not
State’s funds
well, dahlin' as far as I know if a politician have money from a
businessman in a account dat dey hidin'...dat look to me to be
corruption an' bribery at worse, or real dotishness at de least if
Bas wid all he legal trainin' did really hand over de money to Oma
an' did forget to declare it wid de resta he assets. Yuh seem to be
confufflin' de issues...
Whether she paid off the card or not is irrelevant, the card
was issued with specific guidelines which were not adhered to.
Stop attempting to white-wash the fact that a rule was broken.
one minute yuh sayin' rules broken but then yuh sayin dat
'guidelines' wasn' followed...I ent whitewashin' nuttin, it
extremely relevant whether or not public funds did get used fuh she
personal business. Go an' read what Mr. Lucie-Smith did have to say
in he column today (Monday 28th)...an' try not to worry too much
what cuttin' implement yuh Tants does use because I proficient wid
dem all...from a eye to a 3-canal!
Allyuh take care 'pon de roads nuh, it not easy when yuh hear dat a
nex big smashup take place...yuh start to worry one time if is
somebody yuh know.
Enjoy yuh Arrival Day, but make sure yuh able to come back by yuh
Tants fuh some eloquent discourse an' repartee...

BACKCHAT: Issue 21
Tantie
Ah a lil surprised at yuh today... while yuh say yuh not holding any
matches for Camille, it sound like yuh saying it eh a big deal,
talking bout if we never cheat on we taxes or anyting. De differene
is dat dis is a senior government minister, who admittedly abused
state resources.
Yuh mean to say dat a senior government minister doh know that de
card given to dem for travel expenses is not to be used for personal
expenses?
While I
know she pay de money back, the issue is one of professional ethics
and not treating de treasury like yuh petty cash drawer that yuh
could take out and put back in just so.
I agree with yuh in terms of the ethics of publicizing confidential
information.
But one wonders, if this was an official card, are the records
really confidential.
Also your approach sounds like you're shooting the messenger without
dealing with the message. While there may be some questionable
ethics in whistle blowing, we cannot deny that it has reveled many
things
I cannot be sure, but there were probably some terms of use
concerning the card's use.
If there were then she has definitely flouted some part of the
Intergrity in Public Act, if not, there were non, then whoever
authorized the release of the cards were negligent.
We the people need to know more
The other thing has to do with the cabinet approval for her medical
expenses. Is this part of the minister's normal (and considerable)
pay package? From what she said, it sounds like she got CABINET
APROVAL for her to pay for her treatment. Where did this money come
from?
I mean she getting almost 50000 a month. That is more dan plenty
trinis seeing in a year!
We need to realize this OUR MONEY. We PAY them to manage the country
on our behalf.
And they have no right to treat state resources like a family
parlour.

Hey Tants,
I think your slip showing with your defense of the Minister of
Planning.
It is one thing
to say that Ganga should not have revealed detailed of her medical
records, but your following attack on the integrity of the bank and
of the opposition member was a bit too far. If I worked at the bank,
I would immediate offence to your presumption that the information
was leaked by them. I think you know the bank has already made a
statement denying any leak. I hold no brief for Ganga but in this
case, against all your protestations to the contrary you are killing
the messenger. If you support the PNM tants, say so.
That's your democratic right. However, I would want to repeat for
you the quotation from your last issue:
" Politicians are like diapers. They both need changing regularly
and for the same reason."
Unknown
Camille acknowledged she abused the card and she has apologised.
Now, you tell me what's the moral of the story.

Ok I’m a past NCB employee, never had the honour of working under
Larry Howai’s management but sure would like to one day when I am
finished with my purpose here.
I have the utmost respect for Larry’s leadership and know that your
inference, Tantie, is totally unfounded. Tantie would you look to
where the source document is currently housed for the leak and not
within FCB?
You see my dear, once a statement is mailed it is at the mercy of
the post office, the mail room on the receiving end, the accounts
payable dept and even internal auditors of the ministries, cleaning
staff and the list goes on and on.
Why then point fingers at FCB?
Let me remind those other banks not to enjoy this one as the
suspicion is now FCB and tomorrow it could be you!
Poor FCB to have always been dictated to and forced to be
politically aligned, you never had a choice like the rest of the
competition. Yet your strides have shown who is really the strongest
and that has all happened under Larry Howai. Remember that is only
trees bearing fruit will get stoned!
By the way Camille broke the rule of wrongful use of her card and is
no different to the type of 'crime' committed by Basdeo Panday whose
London account holds Duprey’s 'gift' not State’s funds. Whether she
paid off the card or not is irrelevant, the card was issued with
specific guidelines which were not adhered to.
Stop attempting to white-wash the fact that a rule was broken.
We Trinis like to look at every little act as not a real offence
when stacked against a bigger picture, that is the seed of
corruption, indiscipline and lawlessness it does start small and
innocent. Why beg off for Camille and not for Bas and I am not a Bas
supporter eh but only looking at your biased approach.
You let me down this time Tants.
So Tants you stand alone here eh…ah not in yuh corner not that you
need support but when yuh cutting cut straight doh use no pinking
shears for Camille!
