TANTIE TALK - Tuesday 31 July 2007 Volume 8 Issue 31

Well, well well, what a ting...is not only de fowl an' dem dat gettin' stuff wid all kinda 'medicine'. Dey go have to stop referrin' to de cyclists as a peloton an' start callin' dem a 'battery' is so dey pump up wid all kinda ting! Is whey de spirit of sportsmanship gone?

In all kinda tings it ent have no more Mr. Nice Guy, everybody only goin' through de motions so dey could collect at de end. From de begger in de street to de teachers to de business people to de politrikians, nobody ent care 'bout fuh any longer than it take to get what dey want from in yuh pocket. Yuh cyan' find a reliable workman anywhere, if dey ent chargin' de earth fuh de wuk, is because yuh could never find dem to finish de wuk.

Yuh does really have to wonder sometimes jes what kinda lengths people go be willin' to go jes to get what dey want, is how dey manage to justify de means dat achieve de end dey did want...an' is how dey managin' to sleep when de night come. Politriks in all its forms does really make fuh some strange bedfellows in trute, so we gettin' treat to Patos an' JJJack an'
dey bes' skin teeth posin' wid Al Sharpton. Is what dey really gettin' from Al? He gettin' nice money an' chance to satisfy he curiosity 'bout dis lil two by four place dat produce not only Stokely Carmichael (Kwame Ture to de young folks) but Roger Toussaint.

If Patos an JJJack want to learn 'bout real politics dey go do well to sit at de feet of Tokyo Sexwale...dat man is serious power broker, not to mention he went through real sufferin' under apartheid. I wonderin' what kinda deal JJJack lookin' to tie up wid Tokyo, yuh feel he tryin' to get Patos too sell de rapid rail system to South Africa so dey could have it fuh de 2010? If Tokyo seein' potential investment in T&T, I would lissen carefully to what he have to say, but I wonder if anybody else really unnerstan' jes who he be an' hearin' what he really have to say 'bout freedom an' emancipation.

He right when he say women not yet free from oppressive black men, but what we need to take to heart is de words "With freedom comes responsibility".
When we could say we truly unnerstan' de concept an' put it into practice in we daily lives, is then dat sweet T&T go be well on de way to bein' Emancipated an' Independent.

Allyuh enjoy de festivities an' try not to overdo...remember responsibility.
