dat all who want to go up as part of de UNCA really have to be a member
of de UNC? An' hear him, nuh: He not sure what de EBC talking about,
but they will investigate and try to fix it. De ole Bas, man!

Everytime I try to give COP a chance, somebody with de same small foot
gets up and says/does something that makes me say "eh eh"! Enter Devant
Maharaj of GOPIO fame. Why is such a blatant racist on de people
platform? Morgan Job eat him raw and made him look so dotish on TV this
morning (Aug. 7). After Maharaj talked a lot of crap about "Indians" in
Trini being persecuted, Job asked him to comment on his (Maharaj's)
saying in a previous editorial that the "Indian face in T&T is being
destroyed". His response: "I've written so many articles I can't
remember writing that". Job thanked him and ended the interview. So
again....why COP allowin' dese dotish, ignorant & divisive people on dey
platform?!

I've read what you wrote about putting on your "Cynic Hat". While I used
to feel like you, I have woken up and realized that now is the time to
act. We can't just sit around and criticize the people who are trying to
make a change. Mr. Dookeran has shown that he would not be bullied by
the UNC and the parasitic oligarchy. People have seen his integrity in
politics and admired this for many years. He also seems to have the best
slate of candidates as compared to the other parties. I am not one to
put my head on a block for people, but I do believe that the silent
masses are in favour of C.O.P. Panday has gone ahead and mortgaged the
lives of Trinbagonians to the likes of Patos with his arrogance and
"don't give a flying fish" attitude towards the citizens of this
country. I hope that people remember that it was the split caused by
Ramesh L and his faction that resulted in Patos coming into power and
ruling like there is no one else in Trinidad besides him and his
minions. We have the power to effect changes. Staying home and not
voting is not an option that is viable given the state of affairs in the
country. I have heard talk that Manning knows that he is going to win
the next elections for sure, no matter what, with the split in votes
with C.O.P/U.N.C and the non-voting segment. He wants full control of
the marginal seats and wants constitutional majority...power, so he is
waiting to hand out keys for all the houses in the marginal seats. The
houses are ready, but the people are not registered as owners, (i.e. not
registered to vote) as yet. As soon as he hands out the keys, he'll call
elections. It is a scary thought, but it's called playing the game to
one's advantage. There are no rules against what he is doing, so he is
playing us all for fools. Come on T&T. Let's not vote for race...let's
vote for change...let's vote for a better tomorrow. Think long and hard
before you decide whether or not you want to be a part of the country's
future. I love my country and I certainly do not want to see it continue
going down the toilet. Remember folks...it's all up to you...and your
choice....and your voice...
