Well, well, well. Never in all mih born years I woulda imagine such a ting.
I did think it was Silly Season dat startup, but after de performances at de Big Fetes over de weekend, I feel we need to come up wid a nex' name. But is what kinda name yuh could hope to come up wid, dat capture de sheer lunacy of de convocations of politrikians an' fans dat was passin' itself off as "Democracy in action". DeMOCKracy was in action all right, wid both Patos an' Bas positionin' deyself firmly in de fore as Dictators in Waiting.

All de time we feel Patos was goin' to see 'bout he heart an' eyes, is because he was gettin' a closeup of how Cuba was runnin'...but what he ent realise, is dat Cubans not only like Fidel, dey LOVE him, an' while he lookin' to see how to play Dictator, Cuba lookin' to move away from dat facet of dey country development. Is how he could seriously tell 17 outta 19 party groups dat dey cyant have Valley, dey go have to settle fuh de young doctor dat de nex' 2 groups propose? What kinda example he settin'? If it is he have goods on Valley an' feel he go be a liability if de nex' side get wind, is why he ent chooose to be de 'hero' an' hang Valley out to dry? Oh gorm, de man ent no saint, but is 17 years he is yuh faithful lapdog almost...maybe dat is de problem, Patos forget how it is he did "inherit" de party an' de leadership by default an' did bring in Valley into de Senate to try an' give de PNM more bite in Parliament than de 3 teeth of heself, Morris Marshall and Muriel Donawa-Mc Davidson.

An' if Patos did feel he have de exclusive monopoly on dotish dictatorial designs, he best stop an' watch de ole Silver Fox real hard. Bas make a sudden dash to ketch up wid Patos in de Dictator Derby when he give Kamla a six fuh a nine an' boldface enough to demand change too. I does wonder how it is dem could not only get to sleep at night, but could getup de nex'
mornin' an' face demself in de mirror! Kamla self shoulda be shame to show she face on de platform...in fact she was lookin' like she was only goin' through de motions speechifyin' widout any real passion. Why it is a big hardback, intelligent woman does let sheself get use, abuse an' dispose like a dutty tissue I ent know...an' then to add insult onto insult, she now is made leader of de Women's Arm of de party, so she could triumphantly 'lead' women backwards several decades instead of leadin' de UNC or maybe even T&T forwards. Kamla dahlin' go rounds up de balls all de resta dem did park by de door when de get in bed wid Bas, distill dem down an' yuh might get a drop or two of testicular fortitude dat severly lackin' in de party.


As fuh de CoP, so far dey still playin' de supportin' role in de farce.
Is to be hope dey doh fall into none of de 'traditional' ways of politrikal campaignin' in dis place an' dey stick to talkin' issues rather than jes barrackin' people. So far nobody sayin' much substance, nobody puttin' dey neck on de line wid specifics...matter of fact anybody see a manifesto yet?
