Anybody read de papers today? I tryin' to remember when last it is I really sit down an' read de papers...deese days I ent even takin' a pint at de comic strip an' dem, is so I ent want to see de setta bad news dat does be takin' up more space than even de ads. We end 2005 wid a record total of 386 murders - de only ting good yuh could find to say 'bout dat statistic is at least it wasn't 400. Imagine dat eh, we did nearly have a murder total beatin' Lara Test Runs Record... Lawd, len' a hand. An' as if dat 'record' wasn' bad enough we have a nex' one dat seem to be well stuck in de jukebox...no matter what buttons yuh push, is de same tune on de Warner label dat takin' yuh money. Yuh cyant tell where exactly de song (an' dance) go start or how long it go play, but one ting yuh sure is dat yuh money gone. Sometimes it does even work like a payphone, arksin' fuh more money before de tune done play. But then again dis is de Land of de Mimic Men, so why Uncle Jack shouldn' put into practice all de tricks of de trade he learn from de world's biggest an' most successful conglomerate - FIFA? Yuh have to give Jack he jacket when it come to dat, is to be hope it doh turn out to have a matchin' pants made out of Denim de Carrera, styled by Golden Grove Bespoke Tailors. I still cyant get to grips wid dis confufflementation 'bout de World Cup Tickets. I see in de papers Jack say FIFA give T&T 4,500 tickets total fuh de first round matches. OK, is jes dat I thought de total number of tickets dat EACH country was entitled to was 8% of de total available tickets in EACH stadium dey play in...so I did went an' check pon de Official World Cup 2006 website where I did get dese numbers fuh each of de stadia T&T go be playin' in (we only interested in de Group stage numbers fuh now):
Accordin' to my calculations, dat mean dat Dortmund have 4,061 seats available fuh T&T, Nuremberg have 2,587 an' Kaiserslautern have 2,966 fuh a grand total of 9,614 seats in all available to T&T fuh de first round/Group Stage. So, is where de nex 5114 tickets gone? Allyuh realise dat is less than half de allocation dat fuh sale in T&T? Is how much yuh want to bet dat none of de 5,114 tickets dat 'missing' is €35.00 Category 4 (low level behind de goal) seats? How many of de 4,500 dat 'available' yuh feel go be €100.00 seats an' go be available to Joe Bloke who might be dotishly able to cough up T$30,000+airfare? Any €100.00 tickets mus' be done get 'reserve' fuh de "Bahraini Bunch" an' de champagne done gone on ice. So, is what is de real story? I cyant believe dat nobody in de Gov't or even de Opposition doh have either de interest or internet access an' couldn' discover fuh demself dat de figures we gettin jes doh add up, not even upsided down, sideways or back to front. The lawmakers an' lawkeepers so busy wid blimp an' attack helicopter dat dey cyant smell dat load of rotten fish right under dey nose? An' doh feel I forget is a bran' New year, is jes dat I had was to try an' get rid of de bad taste dat lingerin' from las' year...may 2006 give you all dat you wish an' may you-know-who get all dey deserve. I wonder if dey doing long pants suit at Golden Grove bespoke tailors? Because some it have some people who jes not make to wear short pants at all, at all, at all. |
