Chances are only de 3 'babies' go be able to go South Africa in 2010, BUT over de nex' couple years dey have to be de nucleus an' inspiration fuh de 2010 team.  We have to make sure dat Germany 2006 wasn' no fluke as most of de world was thinkin' before Saturday. Win, lose or draw again on de 15th & 20th T&T as a nation HAVE to wholeheartedly throw we support behind de concept of a Trinidad & Tobago World Cup Squad...we cyant be only waitin' to see if dey qualify to suddenly start to pelt dotish money behind de current team. We have to seriously look at de under 14, in fact de we should be lookin' VERY seriously at de 5 year olds dat kickin' ball all over T&T - boys AND girls as well. De main reason de USA reach where it is today is because of de mothers who did play 'soccer' an' encourage dey chirren to do de same. De USA women's team was always more successful than de men (I feel dey coulda do a better job than dem today), an' we could learn from dem.

Before we let Uncle Leo go to get a well deserved retirement after he 40+ years in de "Beautiful Game', we have to try an' unnerstan' jes what it is
he does do so well in MANAGING as well as coaching a setta fellahs from a side into a team. We have to ensure dat in 2014 de T&T World Cup Squad could hold dey head high as dey continue along de course dat was charted out on Saturday 10th June 2006.

Well said, Tants and Mixed Trini. While I also respect the views of the first Trini respondent, we've taken this thing too far. Do you know that this morning on TV6, Sat Maharaj suggested that since Justice Jamadar's ruling stated that Indo-Trinis have been discriminated against, he's considering pressing for reparations?!?!? What rubbish am I hearing?

I get sick to my stomach when people who have access to the media use it to the general disadvantage of T&T. Apart from the gullible Trinis, only
those outside of our national community would be sitting back and actually believing that there is a racial divide in T&T. It's our politicians and the power-hungry (the same?) who continue to perpetuate this nonsense.

Yuh know, when my aunt traced our family tree, she found that we went all the way back to a Carib Queen - not a Carib Girl, eh! Hmmm... I wonder... maybe I should try to make a lil kakada and seek reparations from the Spanish government.

Germany is in the air these days. I wish all Trinis could visit the Jewish Museum in Berlin (which I was able to visit last year). Put aside about 3 hours and look, read, feel, touch, smell, experience this amazing place. And don't for one moment feel that I'm simply referring to an homage for Jews who were killed in the Holocaust. That is but one section in this - as I said - amazing place. When you come out and after you've dried your eyes, I defy anyone to tell me that they feel discriminated against because they are Afro or Indo or Sino or whatever "o" Trini.

I so agree with "de mixed Trini". I am also a mixed Trini and my partents did arrive, where is their day? Why should it not just be "Arrival Day"
where all we people could celebrate their arrival in what was once a beautiful paradise.

I do not feel that I should have to only celebrate the festivals of my religion but I should be able to enjoy them all as I have since I can remember. My parents obviously did a good job raising me where I can understand and celebrate with everyone regardless of their race or
religion.

Once again we are getting so "Americanised" that soon we will not be able to pray as we want because it will offend someone else. If you do not
want to hear my prayer then do not listen but do not stop me from doing my thing if it does not hurt you.

Stopping the crime and corruption in our beautiful nation is so much more important. Protecting our nationals, especially our children, is critical.
Providing education is crucial. Affordable and efficient Health Care for all is an absolute necessity.

Politicians need to stop playing around with our money and do the job that we pay them to do, not just renovating their temporary residences...
